August 1, 2011

Jack WilesJack Wiles is a giver. I’ve been associated with him for years through the National Speakers Association Carolinas Chapter. So, it was no surprise when he was selected as our 2010 – 2011 Member of the Year. He deserves it for the many selfless ways he serves our members and guests.

As a Security Awareness trainer, Jack has presented to over 10,000 people since 1988. He has even provided security awareness training in the main briefing room at the Pentagon. In addition to public speaking, Jack is an author for Syngress/Elsevier, the largest security related book publisher in the world. He is the lead author of all four of the books that he has written for Syngress. The book that he is currently working on will be titled: “Low Tech Hacking – Street Smarts for Security Professionals,” and is scheduled for publication in December.

Jack is also a founding partner, president and co-owner of TheTrainingCo. as well as co-owner and co-producer of the annual Techno Security, Mobile Forensics and Techno Forensics Conference which has had attendees from 48 countries to date.

Jack is also a decorated Combat Veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam where he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for his actions in Combat. He retired from the Army after 28 years of service and spent his last 7 years in the U.S. Army Reserve (Lieutenant Colonel) assigned directly to the Pentagon.
